The Bo’s AKA Nike Air Trainer SC Review

Bo Jackson is probably the most dominant multi-sport professional athlete ever. He’s the only professional athlete to play in two professional sports leagues to be named an All Star in both leagues (MLB and NFL) .

The man whose birth name is Vincent Edward Jackson got his nickname as a child because he was wild and had so much energy like a wild boar and the name just stuck.

Even though Bo hasn't played a professional sport in decades, Nike never stopped paying Bo. It’s rumoured that he earns AT LEAST $1 million per year from Nike. And unlike Michael Jordan who still sells a product for the company, Bo's pay cheque is essentially just an annual courtesy cheque.

Some of his amazing accolades as a high school athlete include:

As a senior in football, Bo rushed for almost 11 yards per carry and had 17 touchdowns.

In the upcoming spring Jackson moved on to baseball and hit 20 home runs, tying the national record.

He was also a phenomenal track athlete. As a senior, he won state titles in multiple dashes, hurdles, the high-jump, and the long-jump.

He was also a two-time decathlon state champion.

Out of high school he was drafted in the second round of the 1982 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees but Bo turned down their offer to go to college. He was heavily recruited but decided to go to Auburn where he would average 6.6 yards per carry and ultimately win the Heisman Trophy. Whether looking at his collegiate or pro career Bo Jackson inarguably has some insane stat lines and was the epitome of the crossover athlete. Hence, his grand opportunity to be the poster boy for the Nike cross trainer era. Famed shoe designer for Nike, Tinker Hatfield designed the iconic sneaker which is a huge part of what makes this signature shoe so special.

The other thing that makes it a special shoe is the strap-like piece with bold ‘Nike’ text on the rear of the shoe that also features the classic Air Max 90 window. Also, there is an array of various colour ways some of which are exclusive for certain markets.

We pay homage to some of our favs and throw it back to the classic Nike commercial from 1989! Check it out!
