Black Man’s Pain

Turn on the news, another black man slain

Bullets in the head of a black man’s brain

Media claims crime is the black man’s game

Just an attempt to throw dirt on the black man’s name,

They put us in a cage to see the black man tamed,

They need no reason to put bullets in a black man’s frame,

There’s still people that hate it when a black man gains,

Just subconscious reminders of the black man’s chains,

Skills and great talent caused the black man’s fame,

Because genius is embedded in the black man’s brain,

Black men, don’t forget how far the black man came,

But taking it even further should be the black man’s aim,

There is an obvious agenda to see the black man shamed,

Someone else can do the crime, but the black man’s blamed,

So many years of oppression left the black man drained,

All that I just revealed, that’s a black man’s pain

Sterotypes

I’m not your tyrant,
I am not your thug,
I don’t promote violence,
I do not sell drugs,
I am much much more then what you see with your sight,
And I do not fit into your stereotypes,
You judge all of us,
Based on your encounter with some,
Unaware of who I truly am or who I can become,
If you looked past my looks to my heart and my mind,
You would then discover, I’m one of a kind.
